Rule Change Suggestions for Next Season

Please submit your rule change proposals for next season & we will vote on them @ Event #10 in April.

Here are the ones I have received thus far, please feel to post comments:

NCPC Rule Change proposals for 2010-11 Season:

1. Correct the Blind Structure oversight by adding the $25 ante to Level 4 150/300.

2. Change all levels to 30 minutes.

3. Clarify rule around throwing cards across table for someone else to see.

4. Insert 500/1000/100 level.

5. Change all levels to 20 minutes each - With the current blind structure the event is lasting more than 6 hours ending after 1:00 AM. If it was changed to 30 minutes levels the tournament would take more than 9 and 1/2 hours ending after 4:30 AM. I don't think that is reasonable. With 20 minute levels we can anticipate the tournament lasting about the same as it does now without making those later blinds increase so quickly.

6. Penalties for breaking the rules of the league or Roberts Rules of Poker.
A) 1st time - Warning by league officer
B) 2nd time - 5 Minute penalty
C) 3rd time - 15 Minute penalty & loss of league point
D) 4th time - Removed from event & loss of 2nd league point

7. Award points based on order of finish. 1 point for 20th place or absent player then 1 additional point for each place above 20th. This will reward the most consistent players over a player that either wins or finishes last. This will also remove the need for tables to play hand by hand when 11 players are left. If there are 2 absent players they would each get 1 point and the first player out would get 3 points. This way first place would always get 20 points.

8. Allow or do not allow multiple players to share 1 league spot.

9. Change start time for next year’s events
a. 5:00
b. 6:00
c. 7:00

10. Change split of money won by club member in a WSOP or WPT event
a. 60% / 40% split (current)
b. 70% / 30% split
c. 80% / 20% split

11. Cards used in events next year.
a. Paper cards (current)
b. Plastic cards

12. Increase club admin fee to cover for next year to purchase club chips with denominations printed on them. Chips would only be used for club events.
a. No club chips – keep admin fee at $10
b. Yes club chips – Increase admin fee to $40 (We would need to research the cost of the chips we would want)

13. Change payout structure for next year.

OPTION 1
Keep the same as this year. 3 WSOP prizes and monthly payouts.

OPTION 2
a. $1,500 WSOP + $700 Spending money to the top 4 finishers
b. $500 Local WPT Event + $100 Spending money to the top 2 point earners in weeks 8 – 10 that do not finish in top 4 overall.

OPTION 3
a. $1,500 WSOP + $800 Spending money to the top 3 finishers
b. 4th Place $1,000
c. 5th Place $800
d. 6th Place $600
e. $500 Local WPT Event + $200 Spending money to the top finisher in week 10 that does not finish in top 6 overall.
